I have been very busy. I have been taking care of mom who fell in Feburay
It’s tough to take care of a loved one. I don’t know if anyone understands.
Today is a good one so I told my mom, your like a orange I am like an apple two different fruits. The Odd Couple figured how to live with each other so can we. I have been staying at her house in Queens. I have a nosy body sister-in-law who thinks I am having problems in my marriage this made me mad. This is coming from a woman who didn’t have the time to take care her sick mom, who ended living with us in New Jersey!!! It not easy but I don’t mind what I have doing my mom is getting better! So now I have something to write about. Family comes first when sickness happens.
I got tied of having afternoon coffee in the house, the winter mix storm we had in East Coast cleaned. I am getting that cabin fever feeling that happens at this point of the year. So I drove from Woodhaven, Queens to Scoops on Cross Bay Blvd, Ozone Park. The style of the cafe is modern clean lines everywhere. When I go to a new cafe I like to try their Cappuccino but there is a problem either the machine or the woman behind the counter using the machine, so I ordered a large coffee instead and a mini cheesecake . The coffee is medium body it’s not strong but I can taste staleness in the brew they must buy bulk commercial vs artisan coffee. The mini cheesecake was a treat its something I would not normally eat creamy with a strawberry that still had so frost to it. There is a self serve soft ice cream and yogurt and a selection of toppings. They do crepes sweet to savory. Next time I should try a protein shake or bubble tea. But I truly want bubble tea it is worth the trip to Main Street Flushing and go to Chatime they are the best and a wide selection of bubble tea concoction. Now the sky is cleaning watching the traffic of the mighty Cross Bay Blvd and think how it influence a great writer who lived in this neighborhood that is Jack Kerouac. I don’t think peopl
So, I was sitting with my friends at Moondoggie Coffee in Maywood NJ we talked about what was going on in our lives. What was surprising how many women we saw at least ten or more from old to young who couldn’t walk in there high heels, it was like watching, Silly Walks, the famous Monty Python sketch while looking out the big windows of the coffeehouse. One looked like she was walking on hot coals, second one was on her tippy-toes, the young one looked like a horse in her Lady GaGa like shoes. My favorite is the women who looked like a duck, butt is in one direction the feet in another like a back ache, but it was the height of the shoes that made these women contort their bodies.
Alert!!! Alert!!! There is a sighting of the Alien Lady!!!!! She is parking her car!!!!
The kid behind the counter runs to see if there is almond milk. There is a handful of people who have issues with their stomachs can’t handle the gluten. Alien Lady did come in and saw three people on the line and walked out. She couldn’t make her Grand Entrance rambling about people and places thinking we understand her plus dressed in green head-to-toe. Alien Lady!!!
I drank my favorite mix of medium blend and Almond Joy flavored coffee it’s the best of both get the kick of the medium blend with a flavor sipping, talking with my friends.. I look out the big windows to see an old man wearing a hat and sunglasses run across West Pleasent Ave and almost got hit by a car.
Maybe the old man should have taken off the sunglasses on a cloudy day to see better before crossing the street. Amazing!!!!!!
In the past few weeks I have learned to perk my coffee than use a coffee machine the process is longer you have to wait for water come to a boil. That gives me time to feed my cats or prepare my lunch. It is a good idea to use a filter in the coffee basket, plus get your coffee grind for perk it is a rough cut looking. I got my perking down I time the coffee for 9 minutes for me it works for the a good few cups of coffee. (If your a coffee head you must have more than one cup). Try to find a percolator , maybe your grandparents may have one. Farberware makes a good one or go on ebay!!! Drink up it’s time for afternoon coffee. Enjoy!!!

Some days are crazier than others for instance a few of the conversations at the coffee shop today were. Talking about M.A.S.H. episodes and of course I actually knew the names of the episodes I know a lot of useless information. Of course the topic of the pope came up what does the white and black smoke mean. I of course being a wise ass said the black smoke was the smoke monster from the TV show “Lost”. White smoke may have been from “I dream of Jeanie” or was that pink? Now the fun or really crazy part. A woman who comes in from time to time who we shall call “The Alien Lady” who comes with her fresh green tin foil hat dressed like a huge lima bean. The poor guy is getting a drink and is on the phone well the alien lady thinks he is talking to her the whole time he is on the phone about 10-15 minutes he could not run out fast enough. She now proceeds to tell us the owners should have wooden stirrers instead of plastic stirrers because they are better for the planet she did not say if she meant hers or ours. She then asks all 5 people in the store the weather for tomorrow and disagrees with everyone. I am not even going to go into the 3 experts who insist on telling me what the owners need to do to pick up business. Why don’t they actually tell the owners well you would have to ask them.
This one makes me sick one of the experts brings up washing their hands don’t recall why but anyway one of them then says and I quote “I don’t believe in washing my hands I let the germs live”. Sure hope he was kidding but if you knew who I was talking about well you would not be shocked. Very important HE DOES NOT NOR HAS HE EVER OR WILL EVER WORK THERE. That is enough rambling for today.
